Commissioned Minister
Certified Exchanged Life Counselor
Certified Christian Trauma Care Provider Levels 1 & 2 through Christian Trauma Healing Network.
Vernon has extensive experience from a 30-year corporate career at Alcatel-Lucent and over 25 years of ministerial leadership, including serving as President of Grace Ministries International, a counseling and training ministry, from 2021 to 2024.
After experiencing personal loss with his first wife's passing because of cancer in 2015, Vernon navigated single parenthood while raising teenagers. His commitment to youth development was clear through 12 years of volunteer mentorship, including eight mission trips to Mexico and active church involvement. In 2022, he remarried Michelle, who serves as Director of Counselor Training at Grace Ministries International.
As a father to three children, including an autistic son engaged with Creative Enterprises, Vernon shows a compassionate approach to family and community support. Professionally, he also serves on the board of Lion Life Community, a nonprofit delivering educational and faith-based programs in the Cherokee County jail, and on the Keystone Village board, a nonprofit whose mission is to provide forever homes for adults with special needs.
Vernon's multifaceted profile encompasses roles as an author, speaker, counselor, and technology enthusiast. Together with Michelle, he remains actively involved in loving and serving his family, friends, and community. His latest project includes producing a Christian music album. I am passionate about sharing my story from a striving perfectionist to resting in my identity in Christ. My tumultuous journey through pregnancy loss, infertility, and divorce became the stepping stones to experience the profound love of God in the midst of heartache and loss. My desire is to guide others in their own journeys through brokenness to find the joy, peace, and rest that is only available in Christ.
A native of Ontario, Canada, I relocated to the greater Los Angeles area in my twenties. Almost two decades later, I accepted God's invitation to explore southern living in Georgia.
My favorite activities include hiking, kayaking, learning, traveling, and teaching. My favorite Bible verses are Psalm 18:33-34: He makes my feet like the deer, and sets me upon my high places. He trains my hands for battle, so that my arms can bend a bow of bronze.
